1. The organisers of the hackathon

1.1 The organiser of the event is Norrsken (Organiser”).

1. 2 The sponsor of the event is Ericsson. Ericsson and the companies Karma and Doctrin will contribute with hackathon cases (“Case Contributors”). 

2. The hackathon

2.1 The Participants will take part in a coding hackathon (the Hackathon) with assistance and input from representatives from the Organiser and Case Contributors using open source code. 2.2 The Participants will be organised into groups of up to 4 people and will develop their own open source project over a 7,5 hour period to be published on GitHub (“the Project”).

The Projects will be judged by the Organiser in accordance with criteria which shall be communicated to the Participants on the website and on the day of the Hackathon, and the winning teams will be awarded a Prize.

2.3 Participants shall be required to use their own computer or other electronic device in developing and submitting their Project.

3. Intellectual Property Rights

3.1 You agree to only include code, data, or other materials in your Project that you have the right to use and release consist with these rules. All code and data must be available under an appropriately open license that allows reuse, commercial use, remixing and redistribution. 

3.2 If you are entering as part of a company or on behalf of your employer, these rules are binding on you, individually, and/or your employer. If you are acting within the scope of your employment, you warrant that such party has full knowledge of your actions and has consented thereto, including your potential receipt of a reward. You further warrant that your actions do not violate your employer’s or company’s policies and procedures.

4. Ownership

4.1 You will retain ownership of your Project; however, all data released by a Case Contributor belong to the Case Contributor. The participants are only allowed to use the Case Contributor’s data in their Projects during the Hackathon. 

4.2 Upon mutual agreement between you and the Case Contributor, you may sell or license your Project to the Case Contributor after the conclusion of the Hackathon. The Case Contributor do not guarantee that they will enter such an agreement with you.
